Apprentice/partner(s) wanted/Mentor available
I didn’t really know what to call this post so I’ll just tell it like it is and you can work out for yourself what it should be…
Before you think ‘oh no, another one of those “give me $1000 and I will make you $1,000,000″ scams - this is not an offer it is an opportunity.
I’m looking for an ‘Apprentice’
Again, I don’t know if the word apprentice would be the right word in this context - You wouldn’t necessarily be working for me, we would be working together…
Some of your questions answered:
What will I have to do?
Learn Internet marketing, web design, web development, databases, process analysis, search engine optimization, learn to work as a part of a team, gain experience and a portfolio, learn concept/idea realization…
Who/what are you?
My name is Steve Dorrington (AKA CarpetDog) - you can find me on the web easily.
I am/have been a web developer, marketer (online and offline), writer, instructor, lecturer, teacher, system process analyst, entrepreneur.
I’m a great listener, I never hold my punches, I am an experienced mentor.
Why are you doing this?
I’ve always been happier when I work with others and see them getting something out of it. I will obviously get someone to bounce ideas off and someone to work with.
What have you got?
5 reseller hosting accounts, 200+ domains, hairy arms, a sense of humour, hundreds of ideas, thousands of web templates, thousands of products (ebooks, scripts, websites etc) with either Master Resell Rights, Private Label Rights or I own them outright as prime copyright owner (by either creating them myself or buying them).
What will I get out of it?
At the end of the day, you will get out what you put in. You’ll get my undivided attention whenever it’s needed. You’ll get a great portfolio. You’ll either make money or I’ll pay your expenses. If we do something together and we have a joint venture agreement - we’ll both profit from it. I’ll pay for, register and host at least one site in your name (you can move it whenever you want you will own it and all it’s content). I’m not a sucker so I won’t be doing this until we’ve at least been working on a project for a little while!
What will your commitment be?
Not much - I’m not asking for money - in fact in most circumstances I’d be happy to pay for out of pocket expenses or a wage. I have Paypal, eGold, Moneybookers, etc. You would just have to be honest and if you say you will do something I would expect you to do it and if you can’t you would say so.
How will we communicate?
Um, by the Internet! - MSN, Skype, Yahoo, gTalk, phone, anything else you can think of.
Who would be your ideal applicant?
English speaking. Someone who knows at least a bit about HTML and PHP. Someone who will ‘give it a go’ and put their heart into the project.
How many applicants/apprentices can you handle?
Um, how long is a piece of string? I’ve managed companies with lots of employees and never had any problem with that - I’ve also worked on several co-ops.

I just wanted to say that this was a very interesting read. I’ve not seen a blog where someone offers themselves as a service.
Keep us posted how it goes.
