Don’t Bomb Iran.com - A website to promote peace & understanding
We live in extremely dangerous times.
As a continuation of the wars waged in Afghanistan & Iraq, the Bush administration is now formulating plans to bomb Iran.
This is a particularly worrying development, not just for the security of America, but also for the families of US soldiers, and especially for the opportunity of peace in the Middle East.
Such action would inevitably worsen the already hostile situation in Iraq, weakening diplomacy & strengthening extremism.
Led by the administration, Iran has been aggressively bullied and coerced economically, militarily, and politically, through the use of sanctions, torture, and political scapegoating, notably resulting in a negative media campaign linking the country with WMD… just as Bush did before the war in Iraq.
Iran has long called for the creation of a nuclear-weapons free zone in the Middle East, continually asserted itself as a peaceful nation, and despite threats & pressure from American politicians, believes it has the right to let it’s citizens benefit from safe, clean nuclear power, just as we do in the West.
There is much work to be done by our international leaders, to ensure the relationships, trust and respect between our countries and international organizations develop and remain strong. The many difficult problems our world faces will only be solved through understanding, transparency and peaceful negotiation.
It is our right and duty as citizens of a free and just society, to consider and question the actions of our nations, to ensure they promote the message of peace to our international neighbors, and demonstrate our compassion, tolerance and fair nature as human beings, to all of mankind, irrespective of location, religion, color or creed.
This is our world, and it’s our responsibility to share it peacefully.
